Overview
MarathonMeta.gg is a fan-made community tool for Bungie's Marathon. This page explains what information is collected when you use the site, who we share it with, and the rights you have regarding your data.
This policy applies to visitors of marathonmeta.gg and its subdomains. It does not apply to third-party sites we link to, which have their own privacy policies.
Information we collect
Account information (sign-in with Bungie)
If you sign in to MarathonMeta.gg using your Bungie account (OAuth), we receive your Bungie membership ID, display name, and profile image URL from Bungie's authentication service. We do not receive or store your Bungie password. Your email address is not shared with us by Bungie.
This information is stored in our user database so you can post builds, create LFG/squad listings, and use other account features.
Content you submit
When you create builds, LFG/squad listings, map markers, or guides, that content is stored along with your display name. Community-submitted content may be shown publicly on the site.
Automatically collected information
When you visit the site, our hosting provider and analytics services automatically receive information such as your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, and approximate location (derived from IP).
Third-party services
MarathonMeta.gg uses the following third-party services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.
- Vercel — hosting and performance/traffic analytics. Policy
- Supabase — database for account and community content. Policy
- Bungie — authentication when you sign in with a Bungie account. Policy

Advertising and ad partners
MarathonMeta.gg displays ads served through NitroPay. NitroPay works with a network of advertising exchanges and bidders. These partners may use cookies, device identifiers, and similar technologies to show you relevant ads, limit how often you see the same ad, measure ad performance, and detect fraud. A complete list of authorized ad sellers for this site is available at /ads.txt.
You can manage your consent preferences for EU/EEA advertising at any time via the consent link in the site footer (visible to users in GDPR regions).
Cookies
The site and its third-party services use cookies and similar technologies for:
- Keeping you signed in (session cookies)
- Analytics (Vercel, Google Analytics)
- Advertising and ad measurement (NitroPay and its partners)
You can control cookies through your browser settings. EU/EEA users are shown a consent management prompt on first visit via the NitroPay CMP.
Your rights — California (CCPA/CPRA)
California residents have the right to opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of personal information as defined under CCPA/CPRA. Online advertising involving cookies and device identifiers may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" under these laws.
To exercise this right, use the "Do Not Sell My Personal Information" link that appears in the site footer for California residents. The link is rendered by our CMP and is only shown to users detected in California.
You also have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold about you. Contact us at the email below to make such a request.
Your rights — EU/EEA/UK (GDPR)
If you are located in the EU, EEA, or UK, you have the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal data, and the right to object to processing or request data portability.
Consent for advertising cookies and vendor data processing is managed through the NitroPay Consent Management Platform (CMP), which is shown on your first visit and can be re-opened at any time using the consent link in the site footer.
Shared builds and links
The Loadout Builder lets you generate shareable links that encode build data in the URL itself. These links do not pass through our database. Anyone with the link can view the build.
Data retention
Account data and content you submit remain on our database until you delete them or request account deletion. Server and analytics logs are retained by the respective providers (Vercel, Google, NitroPay) according to their own policies.
Children's privacy
MarathonMeta.gg is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us to request deletion.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes may be announced on the site or via Discord.
