Outpost Map Guide

Pinwheel Base access, clearance codes, convoy events, exfils, and everything you need to survive Outpost

MarathonMeta·March 13, 2026

///Overview

Outpost is a high-security UESC facility built around a central structure known as "The Pinwheel." It supports 4 teams of 3 Runners per instance.
Compared to Perimeter and Dire Marsh, Outpost is physically smaller but significantly more vertical. The Pinwheel itself is a corkscrew-shaped building packed with tight hallways, elevation changes, and blind corners — fighting inside it is chaotic by design. Scan drones patrol overhead, UESC forces are heavily present, and environmental hazards like tripwires and weather effects are in play from the moment you drop in.
The loot floor is higher here than on other maps, but nothing comes free. The best loot opportunities are concentrated inside Pinwheel Base, and accessing them requires clearance codes and a multi-step unlock process that makes noise — other Runners will know what you're doing.

///How to Access Pinwheel Base

Pinwheel Base is the main high-value loot location on Outpost. Getting inside requires collecting color-coded clearance codes and using them at a terminal near the Pinwheel entrance.
Step 1: Locate the Pinwheel Base entrance. Look for a door with a terminal next to it. The terminal display shows which color codes are currently required to unlock it.
Step 2: Collect the required clearance codes. Find them here. There are three types:
Access Clearance Codes (Green) are found inside buildings, typically sitting on desks or counters. These are the most common and easiest to grab.
Supply Clearance Codes (Orange) are found in white dispenser-style machines scattered around the map. Walk up, interact to activate the machine, wait a few seconds, then collect the code.
Master Clearance Codes (Red) are found on rooftops. Interact with the terminal, wait for it to process, then take the code. These are the hardest to reach safely since rooftops leave you exposed.
Step 3: Return to the Pinwheel terminal and enter your codes. The door opens, but UESC forces are waiting inside — clear them before proceeding.
Step 4: Find and activate the blue terminal next to the elevator. This triggers additional UESC waves that you need to survive before the red barrier comes down and the elevator unlocks. Ride it up.
TIP

The entire Pinwheel unlock process is loud. Every step — the terminal, the elevator, the combat waves — broadcasts your position. Run this with a squad if possible, and have someone watching flanks.

///Clearance Code Locations

Clearance codes spawn at fixed locations across Outpost. Here's the breakdown by type:
Master Clearance Codes (Red): 4 locations, all on rooftops. These require interacting with a terminal and waiting — you're exposed the entire time. Prioritize grabbing these early before other teams rotate to high ground.
Supply Clearance Codes (Orange): 22 locations spread across the map in white dispenser machines. These are the most plentiful and generally the safest to collect since they're often inside or near structures.
Access Clearance Codes (Green): 17 locations, found on desks and counters inside buildings. Quick to grab but require entering buildings where close-quarters fights can happen.
Check the Outpost interactive map and filter by clearance code type to see all confirmed spawn positions.

///UESC Convoy Event

Outpost has a high-value dynamic event: the UESC Convoy. This is a moving target that drops top-tier loot when destroyed — often Deluxe and Superior rarity gear.
To find the convoy, look for a blue floating symbol on the map. A UESC escort squad will be guarding it — you need to eliminate them first. Bring plenty of ammo before engaging.
Once the escorts are down, follow the convoy as it moves. It will eventually stop over a yellow landing pad with blinking lights. When it stops, it opens to reveal four glowing red panels — shoot all four to bring the convoy down.
The loot drops on the ground once destroyed. Grab it fast — the gunfire and explosions will attract every Runner in the area.
TIP

This event is essentially a server-wide dinner bell. If you're going for it, have an exfil plan ready before you start shooting. Know your closest exfil and clear a path to it.

///Supply Drops

There are 3 supply drop locations on Outpost. Supply drops contain randomized loot including weapons, mods, salvage, and occasionally keys.
Supply drops are contested — they're visible to all teams and landing one draws attention. If you're contesting a drop, treat it like a mini-PvP event. Clear the area first, loot second.

///General Tips

Outpost rewards preparation more than any other map. The vertical layout and tight interiors mean engagements happen fast and at close range. A few things to keep in mind:
Audio is everything. The Pinwheel's multi-level design means enemies can be directly above or below you. Listen before you push.
Rooftops are high risk, high reward. Master Clearance Codes spawn up there, but so do sightlines for every other team. Get what you need and get down.
Don't ignore the outer ring. While Pinwheel Base has the best loot ceiling, the perimeter structures have consistent mid-tier loot with far less traffic. If the server is hot, farming the edges and exfiling clean is often the smarter play.
Always have an exit plan. Outpost's compact size means you're never far from another team. Know your nearest exfil before you start any engagement.
